Tamara Empson
Tamara Empson has been teaching ELA for 23 years. She holds a B.S. and an M.A. from Miami University and an Educational Specialist certification from LSU. She is also a National Board-Certified Teacher and a Certified Academic Language Practitioner. Tamara is currently in a doctoral program at LSU in Curriculum and Instruction. Her dissertation focuses on dyslexia and the effects of late diagnoses on students.

In this interactive session, participants will learn ways to screen for dyslexia, empower dyslexic students, and create meaningful interventions in general education classes. Although the focus will be mainly ELA, there will be helpful information for all subject areas.
