What is your role with The Center and what are you most excited about?

I am the Advocacy Program Coordinator here at The Center. Within this role, I provide support to all programming and activities related to advocacy, legislation, and public policy. Education plays a strong part in the economic development of this state, so I am most excited to be involved in taking a step towards the improvement of our great state in hopes Louisiana natives will be proud to call this state home.

What is your background?

I graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Leadership & Human Resource Development in May of 2021. Being born and raised in Louisiana I have always been driven to work in a position where I am able to help our state in its growth. Prior to graduation, I held various positions in which I was able to learn different parts of how our state legislature operates, from both inside and outside viewpoints. Through my experience, I have grown a strong passion for developing strategic solutions that help aid Louisiana in its economic and now educational growth.

What is your favorite childhood book or literacy memory?

My favorite childhood book is Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up I always wanted to be The President of the United States. I have always been inspired by women not only in government but also in leadership positions.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

If I could be anywhere in the world right now, I would be in one of two places…either at an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas enjoying the nice warm weather…or back in Montana with my dad hunting for big game animals. Fun fact I skipped my high school senior trip in Cancun to go on my Montana trip and ended up killing my first black bear.

What passion projects do you have outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy hanging out with my friends, getting involved in community organizations, going home to spend time with my family, hunting with my dad, and cooking. I recently started to love fitness and coming up with new healthy recipes to cook.
