What is your role with The Center and what are you most excited about?
Programs Operations Coordinator – I’m most excited about gaining more knowledge and helping to make an impact with my coworkers in Literacy and Learning.
What is your background?
I worked in insurance for several years as a Care Advocate and Account Coordinator. I’ve also worked in the entertainment, restaurant, and oil industry as an event coordinator and marketing representative.
What is your favorite childhood book or literacy memory?
Madeline book series, especially Madeline and the Old House in Paris. Such a big fan that my 7th birthday party was Madeline themed. My Aunt Janie made my friends and myself Madeline yellow hats with the little black ribbon and blue draped dresses for us all to play along and dress up. In high school, my love for Paris didn’t end there as I took French Language classes I, II, and III.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Surgeon
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Home with my husband and dogs 🙂
What passion projects do you have outside of work?
I’ve coached swim safety and swim team prep for ages 6mths – 12 years old since 2016. Swim team growing up, and I’m scuba certified. I offer privates swim lessons on the side, outside of my full-time job over the summer months. I have a love for the water and want to share my love for the water and help others learn how great it is.
