Ashley Tuminello
What is your role with The Center and what are you most excited about?
I am The Center’s Program Support Specialist. I am most excited about creating processes and facilitating the spread of the knowledge The Center and its team have to offer. I love working to ensure all details are accounted for and taken care of, and I’m proud to support our President, DeJunne’ Clark Jackson, in this capacity.
What is your background?
Before joining The Center team, I worked in Marketing. I am super creative with strong administrative capabilities, and I found Marketing an avenue to exercise both of those skill sets. In addition to traditional creative skills like graphic design, my creativity allows me to think outside of the box to solve problems, create processes, and maximize efficiency. My role as Program Support Specialist offers many opportunities to utilize these skills.
What is your favorite childhood book or literacy memory?
Shel Silverstein came to my elementary school and read his books to us! His visit was facilitated by my first grade teacher who’s love of books and reading was infectious. I’ve been a bookworm since.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
The beach! I love being in, on or near the water. I’m grateful to live near the gulf coast and try to make as many trips to the beach as I can.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
I love anything creative or crafty. Right now I’m really into hand embroidery. It’s an incredibly relaxing creative outlet that busies my hands so my mind is free to wonder.
