Director of Accounting Operations
Reports to: VP of Operations |
Primary Location: Metairie, Louisiana |
Position Type: Full Time, Exempt Summary Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Accounting Operations will ensure, through coordination of the leadership team, that all operations, fiscal management, and efficiencies are in compliance with policy and best practices. Tasks include fiscal management and accounting, budget preparation and analysis, fiscal accountability, human resources, and Information Technology. |
Family Engagement Specialist
Reports to: Director of Statewide Family Engagement Center |
Primary Location: Louisiana – Remote |
Position Type: Full Time, Exempt Summary The Center for Literacy & Learning (“The Center”) seeks to fill three (3) positions of Family Engagement Specialist (“Specialist”) for the LA-SFEC: Advancing Meaningful Family-School Engagement. A member of the Statewide Family Engagement Center team, the Family Engagement Specialist serves as a key team member and an active participant in delivering robust, expert-level programs statewide. The Family Engagement Specialist is essential to developing a statewide family engagement framework to increase support for families and educators. The Family Engagement Specialist provides information and support to families with children in schools both related and unrelated to reading through the facilitation of workshops, hands-on learning opportunities, parent-focused learning, creation of digital and printable resources, and the development of educator-focused family engagement support. This is a federal grant supported program. One Specialist must be bilingual, Spanish-speaking. |
Vice President of External Relations

Primary Location: Baton Rouge/Metairie, Louisiana |
Position Type: Full Time, Exempt Summary Reporting to the President, and working in close collaboration with the CEO, the Vice President (VP) of External Relations provides leadership, planning, and support with all external relations and programming in advancement, advocacy, and communications as a key member of The Center’s leadership team. The VP of External Relations will design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing and maintaining key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support, overseeing revenue-generating programs within the external relations division,, funding initiatives, communications, policy, and growing partnerships throughout The Center’s service areas. |
Literacy & Learning Specialist, Early Childhood
Reports to: Director of Professional Learning |

Position Type: Full Time, Exempt Summary Reporting to the Director of Professional Learning, the Literacy & Learning Specialist, Early Childhood (EC) serves as a key team member and an active participant in delivering robust, expert-level professional development programs. The Literacy & Learning Specialist, EC is essential to maintaining new and existing relationships forged with schools and school districts to increase visibility and impact, while strengthening The Center’s core mission. The Literacy & Learning Specialist, EC is a well-versed expert, instructional leader, and practitioner who provides leadership, strategic planning, and program development for The Center. |
Literacy & Learning Specialist, Independent Consultant
Reports to: Director of Professional Learning |
Primary Location: Remote |
Position Type: Part Time Summary The Literacy & Learning Specialist, Independent (1099) Consultant is a well-versed expert, instructional leader, and practitioner who provides literacy leadership on behalf of The Center for Literacy & Learning. Reporting to the Director of Professional Learning, the Literacy & Learning Specialist, Independent Consultant serves as an active participant in delivering robust, expert-level professional development and coaching. This position is essential to maintaining new and existing relationships forged with schools and school districts by providing virtual and onsite support for literacy leaders, aligned with The Center’s core mission. |
