What is your role with The Center and what are you most excited about?
I am a Program Coordinator for The Center. I am most excited for the next legislative session so that we can continue to advocate for policies that will brighten the futures of the children of Louisiana!
What is your background?
I grew up in Zachary, Louisiana, and graduated from Zachary High School.
In high school, I volunteered at elementary schools around my city to read to different classes and help any children having trouble reading. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for ensuring each and every child receives the best education possible.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University. Before accepting my current position at The Center, I was an intern during my freshman year of college.
I have a little brother, who is the light of my life and continues to drive my work at The Center, and my dog, Annabelle.
What is your favorite childhood book or literacy memory?
My favorite book as a young child was The Rainbow Fish, but as I got older I loved the Percy Jackson series!
Flashback to when you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was 10 I actually wanted to be in the FBI and that did not change until I was 15!
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
If I could be anywhere in the world right now I would probably be in Rome. I definitely plan to go at least once in my life since it’s my last name!
