Jennifer Armond
What is your role with The Center and what are you most excited about?
I currently serve as the Client Success Specialist, helping districts assess their needs and how we at The Center can best serve them. Knowing that we are all working together for the betterment of our community/state/country in our efforts to support literacy.
What is your background?
I have Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction as a Reading Specialist as well as Educational Leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University. I worked as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal in the elementary school and middle school settings.
What is your favorite childhood book or literacy memory?
I can fondly remember my mother reading The Pokey Little Puppy to me over and over, as well as singing with me as a young girl. Oral literacy development is so important for early readers.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher- never any doubt in my mind what I wanted to do.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
My kids keep me busy but I do have an online boutique called LeighLain, I love helping women feel beautiful on the outside to help their inner beauty shine through!
