What is your background?
Pamela Marshall is an enthusiastic professional educator with 27 years of successful experience. As noted, she holds a Master’s + 30 with certification in Educational Leadership from the state of Louisiana. While having experience of seven years as an elementary school principal, one year of experience as a high school principal, and many years of experience in various leadership roles. Previously serving as CEO and Principal in various schools in New Orleans, LA, and was the leader of 600 plus students. In these roles, she worked collaboratively with teachers and all stakeholders to ensure that students achieve academically in a safe learning environment. With an array of educational and leadership backgrounds and strong curriculum development skills, she continuously delivers confidence, passion, and knowledge to enable each student and staff member to reach his or her full potential.
She currently holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Elementary Education from Grambling State University and a master’s Plus 30 in Educational Leadership from the University of New Orleans. While earning multiple degrees, she has taken advantage of multiple opportunities to serve as a leader in many capacities, such as Testing Coordinator, Staff Developer, Literacy Facilitator, Master Teacher, etc. While serving in these schools, she took the time to recognize the differences and organized strategic professional development activities that accommodated the dynamic teaching and learning styles of the faculty and staff serviced. As a leader, she also became increasingly aware of her individual strengths such as being able to motivate staff to generate exciting instructional activities. The strong rapport with students, parents, and coworkers not only benefitted her faculty/staff but the community at large. Although successful in her educational career as an elementary/middle school principal, she continues to seek excellence in school leadership experience with her passion for mentoring and coaching new and aspiring school leaders as well as teachers at schools that require her level of expertise.
Ms. Marshall has also served on the collegiate level as Adjunct Professor at Southern University, A&M, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Our Lady Holy Cross College, New Orleans, Louisiana, and as a professional consultant and speaker at Louisiana College, Alexandria, Louisiana.

Administrative Competence: Maintaining a safe learning environment; selecting, inducting, and evaluating staff; managing the school budget; and overseeing day-to-day operations of the school.

Flashback to when you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Always knew I wanted to be a teacher as I come from a long line of educators. I remember playing school in the front yard whenever my mother came in from work with extra papers from her class. Helping her grade work was my favorite time of the evening.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
If I could be anywhere in the world right now, it would be on a calm serene island.
What passion projects do you have outside of work?
My passion project(s) outside of work is creating a safe place for the children in my neighborhood. I provide healthy snacks, books, and positive support.
